MAVReC

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The mission of MAVReC (Men Against Violence Research Collaborative) is to create a constructive space where discounted, diminished, and underestimated youth can cultivate and practice their critical thinking abilities. Drawing on the ideas of progressive educators like Paulo Freire, MAVReC empowers youth to work collectively and collaboratively to create knowledge and understanding of the pressing issues affecting their communities, to prevent violence in their communities, and to resist stereotypical representations of young people and people of color.

By working collaboratively to analyze issues relevant to their lives, MAVReC seeks to educate itself and others, and to include the voice of the community in creating positive change.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][mk_swipe_slideshow images=”291,293,294″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
